María Ólafs, Iceland’s representative to Eurovision 2015, has released the first single from her debut EP Unbroken. The single is called ‘Dancing in the Storm‘, and was written by Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson, Ásgeir Orri Ásgeirsson and Sæþór Kristjánsson.
Since Eurovision 2015, where Ólafs did not qualify from the semi-final for the grand final, she has been performing at the National Theatre of Iceland. It seems to be music that is her real love, though, as her new single and others also released this week are showing.
Check out the other two tracks released along with ‘Dancing in the Storm‘ in the videos below. They are ‘Wild As Summer’, an electronic dance number, and an electronic remix of her Eurovision song ‘Unbroken‘.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the remix of ‘Unbroken‘ as Marie Ólafs sadly sounds like a chipmunk, and not in a good way, but the other two are lovely. She has a great sound, and they are both catchy songs that stick in your head.
