Modest Mouse released a video for their new single ‘The Ground Walks, With Time in a Box‘ yesterday. It’s interesting, and a bit crazed, as it was inspired by the HBO TV series Game of Thrones, and features lead singer Isaac Brock wandering around a leveled countryside in a tatty fur robe and a rinky-dink crown.
But he’s soon fighting one of his band for power and glory and, in fitting Game of Thrones style, it ends…well, bloody.
And, sure, the video for ‘The Ground Walks, With Time in a Box‘ is a bit strange, but nowhere near as strange as Modest Mouse’s psychedelic video for ‘Lampshades on Fire‘. (And I say ‘strange’ in the most complimentary terms, as I happen to love ‘strange’ myself).
As for ‘The Ground Walks, With Time in a Box‘, it’s from Modest Mouse’s first album release in eight years.
Called Strangers to Ourselves, the album was first hit shelves back in March where it peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 Album charts. You can grab it on iTunes.
