My Demon on Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English Shows 3 days after it premieres

Just a few minutes into watching the ongoing Korean romance drama My Demon, and I knew it would be a big hit on Netflix where the K-drama is currently streaming for international audiences.

Not only does it star two of South Koreas hottest young actors — Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung — who have amazing chemistry with each other, but the plot is fun, the cinematography is beautiful and the drama’s soundtrack has been lovely so far.

That is why I predicted My Demon would easily hit the Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart in its first week.

As it did at the end of last week, just three days after the K-drama premiered on the streaming platform, and in a high spot as well.

My Demon climbs high on Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart

According to the numbers via Netflix’s Tudum, My Demon debuted on the chart in 4th place.

A big achievement considering most of the other shows in the Top 10 had been streaming far longer than the three days My Demon had been available on the platform.

According to Netflix, in those three days, My Demon was watched for more than 6.7 million hours worldwide, with a total number of views of over 3 million.

That also likely means that most people who began watching it watched both currently available episodes.

Meanwhile, My Demon was in the Top 10 in 45 countries, including Jamaica, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, South Africa, Egypt, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, New Caledonia and, of course, its home country of South Korea.

With just two episodes of My Demon out, and the K-drama also receiving solid ratings on sites like IMDB, it is very likely the K-drama will remain on the Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows list for weeks to come.

Then again, it is a helluva fun watch, so the drama’s ranking on the chart is well-deserved.

My Demon stars Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung, and airs on SBS TV in South Korea every Friday and Saturday night at 22:00 (KST).

Netflix streams each new episode for their international viewers around the same time.
