The upcoming family drama Twinkling Watermelon premieres on tvN on September 25th, replacing the soon-to-end My Lovely Liar.

In anticipation of that, tvN has just released a cool Twinkling Watermelon poster featuring “father and son” band members Ryeoun and Choi Hyun Wook playing guitar and grinning into the camera.

Choi Hyun Wook, in his role as Lee Chan, is wearing a t-shirt blazened with the name of the band they both belong to — Watermelon Sugar.

What is Twinkling Watermelon about?

Twinkling Watermelon stars Ryeoun as Eun Gyeol, the only hearing person in a family of deaf people who is a superb student by day and a cool band guitarist at night.

One day, Eun Gyeol travels backwards in time to 1995 after visiting a strange music shop.

Once there he soon meets his father Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) who is still a teenager and the member of a band.

The problem is Lee Chan thinks Eun Gyeol is a lunatic after he shouts “Dad?” and grabs his face.

When the misunderstanding has been cleared up, however, Eun Gyeol joins the band, and is soon not only enjoying his life as a teenage musician, but also looking for ways to change his father’s life so he does not end up as the unhappy man he seems to be in middle-age.

Check out the cool new Twinkling Watermelon poster above, and watch the drama’s official trailer below.

Twinkling Watermelon will air on tvN in South Korea every Monday and Tuesday evening at 20:50 (KST), and then stream on TVING.

Viki is streaming the drama for international audiences outside South Korea in some regions.
