Pia Studlé’s ‘Ai-je tort?‘ asks ‘Am I Wrong?’
At only 17 years of age, French singer Pia Studlé may be young but that isn’t stopping her singing as well as singers much older than her. Case in point, Pia Studlé’s first single ‘Ai-je tort?‘ (‘Am I Wrong?’). A truly French-style pop song that’s just gorgeous.
Studlé got her start releasing videos on YouTube doing covers of other singers’ songs. She was eventually discovered by music producer Sulee B Wax and has been working with him ever since. She’s currently being compared to artists like Lorde although, to me, her sound is too distinct for that kind of comparison.
Her first EP was released last month. Called ‘Echoes’, the EP has four tracks, including both the standard version of ‘Ai-je tort?’ as well as an acoustic version. Both are fabulous.
As for ‘Ai-je tort?’ itself, it’s asking the question ‘Am I Wrong?‘ about love. Who knows? I don’t think any of us ever do.
