Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter’s Lydia Leinster character visual shows teasing side of the talented swordswoman

The latest character visual for upcoming fantasy anime Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is out, and this week it’s daughter of the Ducal House of Leinster, Lydia Leinster.

The Lydia Leinster character visual arrived via X, and follows on from the visual for Tina and the one for Tina’s friend Ellie, which dropped earlier in the month.

It shows Lydia looking down on someone who is likely protagonist Allen, as she likes giving him a hard time.

A comment that came with the visual says:

“…What’s the matter? You don’t like it when someone strokes your head while you use their lap as a pillow?”

Yep, definitely Allen.

Lydia, by the way, is both a talented swordswoman and sorceress. She is someone who enjoys doing exactly what she likes, and hates to be controlled, but will still occasionally bow to Allen’s requests.

She is voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa (Kotoha in Wind Breaker and Ikuyo in Bocchi the Rock).

Production details for Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter

As the release of promotional materials has been ramping up recently, it is pretty obvious Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is probably heading towards its premiere.

That premiere will be in July, 2025, so just a few weeks left now.

The anime is being directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama (The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World), with Megumi Shimizu (Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers) in charge of scripts and series composition, while Akiko Toyoda (Fluffy Paradise) is the anime’s character designer.

Studio Blanc (My Girlfriend is Shobitch) is animating the series.

While nothing particularly different when it comes to the stories in most fantasy anime series, the Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter plot, which is based on the light novels by Riku Nanano  goes like this:

In a world where magical ability determines one’s life, Tina, the daughter of a duke, is somehow unable to use even simple magic.

However, the talent hidden within this girl blossoms vividly under the unconventional teachings of her kind, magic-loving tutor…

J-Novel Club is releasing the light novels digitally, and also publishes the manga adaptation.
