The new Wednesday-Thursday JTBC drama Queen of Divorce, Episode 1 premiered tonight to a solid rating for its debut.

That rating via Nielsen Korea was 3.31 percent nationwide, and a slightly higher 3.36 percent of the audience share in Seoul.

It is also a higher rating than Destined with You — its predecessor in the same time slot — for its first episode (2.91 percent and 2.93 percent in Seoul), which means the Korean drama is nicely on a path to success so far.

Those numbers also placed the drama as the 5th and 4th most-watched shows on cable TV in South Korea for Wednesday.

What is Queen of Divorce about?

Queen of Divorce follows Kim Sa Ra (played by Lee Ji Ah).

Once married to one of the heirs of the largest law firm in Korea, she suddenly finds herself divorced after her husband betrays her.

In response, and to get her own back on people like her vile ex-husband, she becomes a “divorce troubleshooter”.

A  woman who finds evidence to help those who have been wronged in an ongoing divorce so they can divorce with a better outcome, while also punishing the spouse who was at fault.

Her partner is Dong Ki Joon (Kang Ki Young), another lawyer at her firm and someone who, while he is incredibly persistent in catching awful spouses in the act and, thus, great at his job, may also have a secret of his own.

Queen of Divorce airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 20:50 (KST) on JTBC, with Viki and KOCOWA streaming the Korean drama for international viewers in select regions.
