Resident Playbook EP2 ratings rise as K-drama may be a HUGE hit on Netflix!

Korean audiences watch Resident Playbook in larger numbers

New tvN drama Resident Playbook, Episode 2 aired on Sunday night to a ratings rise and, while not a huge increase in the K-drama’s audience share — yet — it is at least moving in the right direction.

The new nationwide rating via Nielsen Korea for Resident Playbook, Episode 2 was 3.98 percent.

That is nicely up from the K-drama’s first episode audience share of 3.68 percent on Saturday night, and a nice set up for episodes to come.

Meanwhile, in Seoul, the tvN medical-themed drama also saw a small ratings rise — up from Saturday night’s 4.36 percent to Sunday night’s 4.47 percent.

In both regions, Episode 2 of Resident Playbook was also in the #1 spot in its timeslot.

International viewers are already rating the K-drama higher

While ratings are stuck at the same low 7.8 out of 10 on IMDB that they were after Episode 1, the ratings on My Drama List after Episode 2 have skyrocketed.

That is because, as I predicted yesterday, after the usual trolls have left their crazy low ratings and then disappeared, the people actually watching the Korean drama come in and rate it reasonably.

In this case that means, after earning a crazy low 6.2 out of 10 after Episode 1 aired from said brain-dead trolls, Resident Playbook has now earned ratings from those assessing it fairly.

As a result, Resident Playbook has skyrocketed from yesterday’s rating of 6.2 on the platform to today’s much more accurate 8.0 out of 10.

That is with almost 700 people rating the K-drama so far, by the way.

It is a rating that is still slightly too low (it should be more in the 8.4 or 8.5 realm, in my opinion), but it does mean true Korean drama fans have now taken over, and they are not putting up with the idiots.

A huge hit on Netflix?

In addition, according to Flix Patrol, it appears Resident Playbook may just be a huge hit on Netflix, where it is now streaming internationally.

Their ratings currently show, after Episode 2 streamed on Netflix on Sunay, the Korean drama is now in the Top 10 in 30 countries, with audiences in 20 of those countries pushing it into the Top 5.

Yep, Resident Playbook is very likely to end up on Netflix’s Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart when that releases on Tuesday and, yes, we will let you know about that tomorrow.

The excellent-so-farĀ Resident Playbook stars Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Han Ye Ji, Kang Yoo Seok, Han Ye Ji and Jung Joon Won.

The Korean drama’s next episode will hit on tvN, and then stream on Netflix, on Friday, May 18th. Look forward to it. I know I am.
