Korean actor Song Joong Ki has been confirmed as making a guest appearance in the upcoming K-drama Queen of Tears.
According to Korean news media, the 38-year-old actor decided to accept a guest role in the new tvN drama as a favor to lead actress Kim Ji Won who Joong Ki co-starred with in both Arthdal Chronicles and Descendants of the Sun.
His agency HighZium Studio confirmed Song Joong Ki’s participation in the drama earlier today.
The same agency, by the way, that also represents Kim Ji Won.
The romantic comedy Queen of Tears stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, and tells the story of a married couple in the middle of a relationship crisis.
No announcement has yet been made as to which episode/episodes Song Joong Ki will appear in.
Song Joong Ki’s acting career so far
Song Joong Ki’s role in Queen of Tears will be the actor’s second confirmed role of 2024, and possibly his third in reality?
That is because he is starring in the upcoming (superb-looking) movie My Name is Loh Kiwan due out on Netflix on March 1st, as well as rumored to be the main lead in the drama My Youth from the writer of Run On.
One of several movies he has starred in, including Hopeless, Space Sweepers, The Battleship Island and A Werewolf Boy, as well as in the yet-to-be-released film Bogota: City of the Lost (which, by the way, is rumored to be releasing in 2024).
He also recently starred in K-dramas Reborn Rich, Vincenzo and Arthdal Chronicles, with other leading roles in Descendants of the Sun, The Innocent Man and My Precious You.
Song Joong Ki’s guest-starring role in Queen of Tears is not his first either, as the Korean actor has had other guest roles in dramas like Little Women, Man to Man and The Sound of Your Heart.
