Korean actor Song Joong Ki‘s next acting project could be a new drama from Run On writer Park Shi Hyun.

According to Korean news media, Song Joong Ki is considering taking the starring role in the upcoming drama My Youth (working title), with the actor’s self-owned agency HighZium Studio confirming discussion was currently ongoing about the film and Song Joong Ki’s involvement in it.

HighZium Studio will also be producing the drama.

The 38-year-old actor’s most recent drama role was as Jin Do Jun/Yoon Hyun Wo in the hit drama Reborn Rich.

Prior to that he also starred in the dramas Vincenzo, Arthdal Chronicles (all three parts), and Descendants of the Sun.

Since 2021, however, Song Joong Ki has concentrated more on his movie career than on dramas.

He starred in this year’s upcoming Netflix film My Name is Loh Kiwan, last year’s Hopeless, which was also produced by the Korean actor and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and in 2021’s Space Sweepers.

He also played the main role in the yet-to-be-released film Bogota: City of the Lost. A film that was delayed due to worldwide Covid lockdowns and restrictions.

In his personal life, Song Joong Ki married British former actress Katy Louise Saunders in early 2023.

She gave birth to the couple’s first child — a son — later in the year.
