The Korean action adventure drama Stealer: The Treasure Keeper came to an end last night with Episode 12 airing on tvN.
Happily, for me and the fans who loved this drama, viewers came back to watch the final episode with Stealer: The Treasure Keeper, Episode 12 earning 2.32 percent of the audience nationwide.
That number also placed the drama second in its time slot, and was a .4 percent increase in Korea nationwide compared to the drama’s previous episode.
In Seoul, Stealer: The Treasure Keeper, Episode 12 fared even better with a 2.81 percent share, which also placed it in second place in the nation’s capital.
According to Nielsen Korea, with these solid ratings, the overall average audience share for the entire drama ended up being 3.0 percent nationwide, with a 3.38 percent share in Seoul.
Not shabby at all for a drama airing on a cable TV network.
Stealer: The Treasure Keeper is last tvN drama on Wednesday-Thursday nights
It also appears Stealer: The Treasure Keeper may be the last Wednesday-Thursday drama tvN airs on its network, at least for a while, with new shows in that time slot going forward concentrating on entertainment rather than drama.
Much of that, of course, is due to the recent dramas airing on tvN on Wednesday and Thursday evenings not competing well against dramas on other channels.
But, as the official tvN statement said this:
We plan to match changes in viewing patterns by being flexible about our programming [for Wednesday and Thursday evenings], without differentiating between genres such as dramas, variety, or culture.
that does leave the door open for an odd drama to pop up now and again.
For international audiences, however, that also means there will be one fewer tvN drama to watch every season.
As a huge fan of almost every tvN drama released in the last few years, that makes me incredibly sad.
