Last night, (Saturday November 12th, 2016), British singer Sting was the first musician to perform at The Bataclan theater in Paris since the terrorist attacks of last year that killed 89 people.
Sting’s performance re-opened the theater after year-long renovations due to the attack. A new concert season will begin thereafter.
Sting, one of the most socially conscious musicians around today, opened his Bataclan performance by asking the crowd in French to observe a minute’s silence for the people that were killed.
Proceeds from the Bataclan concert go to two charities helping survivors of the attack.
