The first episode of Strong Girl Nam Soon kicks off to an excellent start in the ratings

Strong Girl Nam Soon, the spin-off for the 2017 Korean drama Strong Girl Bong Soon, premiered on JTBC in South Korea last night to higher ratings than the first episode of the original series.

A superb feat, I might add, as Strong Girl Nam Soon, Episode 1 aired on JTBC at the same time as other TV channels were airing the Asian Games.

A sporting event that was especially important last night as South Korea was playing in the Men’s Football gold medal match against Japan (South Korea won 2-1), as well as with Korean athletes competing in other gold medal events.

To say then that Strong Girl Nam Soon, Episode 1 debuted the series to a 4.29 percent rating nationwide versus Strong Girl Bong Soon‘s first episode’s 3.82 percent in February, 2017, it really was an admirable result.

The new comedy crime drama performed even better in Seoul, where the ratings for Strong Girl Nam Soon, Episode 1 were an even higher 4.82 percent.

Considering the ratings for the drama’s predecessor, Strong Girl Bong Soon, more than doubled during its 16-episode run, that means Strong Girl Nam Soon could see a similar result.
