It’s been a really good day for new music today. What with Conchita Wurst’s new track ‘My Lights’ being played on Austria’s Ö3 radio, The Smashing Pumpkins releasing an audio file of their new track ‘Being Beige’ and now Australia’s The Church with their music video ‘Before a Fall‘. I want every day to be like this.
The Church, of course, have been around for decades (I used to play them on my radio show back in the 90s) but still release some stunning music, and ‘Before a Fall’ is no exception.
Its dream-like lyrics and sound is typical of The Church, which is why I’ve always liked them so much, and is from their upcoming new album Further/Deeper. That promises to be another fabulous release from the band I’ll be grabbing as soon as it’s released next year.
Meanwhile, I’ve listened to ‘Pride Before a Fall’ half a dozen times now and, yes, it’s lovely.
