The Jesus and Mary Chain and Sky Ferreira give cool performance of ‘The Two of Us’ on ‘Colbert’ (video)

Scottish alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain showed up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, where they gave a very cool performance of ‘The Two of Us‘. Synth pop singer songwriter Sky Ferreira also joined the band on vocals.

A happy and fun pop track, ‘The Two of Us‘ is from The Jesus and Mary Chain’s seventh studio album Damage and Joy, an album fans have been waiting for for a long time as it’s the band’s first album release in 19 years.

The track was originally released by Freeheat on their 2002 five-track Retox EP.

Freeheat, of course, is an indie rock band Jim Reid and Ben Lurie helped form after The Jesus and Mary Chain broke up.

The Chain got back together in 2007, and have played at various festivals since, as well as been on several reunion tours over the last few years. Nicely, Freeheat is still going strong as well.

Watch The Jesus and Mary Chain and Sky Ferreira perform ‘The Two of Us‘ on Colbert in the video below. And you really have to love that song as it just makes you feel so happy.
