Indie rock duo The Kills appeared on Conan last night where they performed a very cool live version of ‘Heart Of A Dog‘.
The track is the second single from their fifth album Ash & Ice. A 13-track album that has an unpolished feel to it that is quite lovely. Even if it is a bit less energetic than normal.
As for The Kills, they are American singer Alison Mosshart and British guitarist Jamie Hince who go by the names ‘VV’ and ‘Hotel’, and produce sparse, minimalist indie rock that is moody and dark.
The Kills appearance on Conan last night as part of their tour of North America in promotion of their new album. The tour finishes up this month. They will then be back touring in Europe, and will be performing at both the U-Park Festival in Kiev, Ukraine and at the Park Live Festival in Moscow.
They will be back in the U.S. later in the year for more shows and more TV appearances.
Meanwhile, you can pick up the duo’s new album Ash & Ice on any of the major digital music platforms. It charted in the top 30 on the album charts in more than 10 countries so, yes, it was quite successful for the indie duo.
