The National’s ‘Runaway’ played on The Affair, Season 5, Episode 10

Alternative rock band The National’s ‘Runaway‘ was played on the new episode of drama series The Affair this week — The Affair, Season 5, Episode 10.

The song was played as we see Helen stuck in an L.A. traffic jam as people in the canyon are trying to flee from the rapidly advancing wildfire.

The National’s ‘Runaway‘ is from the band’s critically acclaimed fifth studio album High Violet.

Released in 2010 via 4AD, High Violet was talked about by critics as the indie band’s best album to date at that time.

The record went on to chart in 17 countries including the U.S. and the United Kingdom, and made it to #2 on the album charts in both Denmark and Canada.

To date, it has sold more than 850,000 copies worldwide, making it one of the The National’s most successful releases.

Runaway‘ was also featured in the zombie comedy film Warm Bodies, starring Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, and John Malkovich.

As for the Showtime series The Affair, it is currently in its fifth and final season.
