Australian alternative pop duo Atlas Genius has released the official video for their latest single ‘Balladino‘. The song is from their Inanimate Objects album, released in August last year. The album hit the top 20 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart.
As for the ‘Balladino‘ video itself, it is a claymation extravaganza a la Wallace and Gromit with a World War II theme complete with planes, tanks and submarines.
Band member Keith Jeffrey talked to Billboard magazine about the reason for such a theme — “It’s a WW2 epic meets Wallace and Gromit. Both of our grandfathers fought in the war so it’s a tribute to them and everyone else who sacrificed so much”.
The video was animated and directed by Justin Le Burgos, and produced by Rough N’ Tumble Productions. It’s pretty darned cool.
