Iconic British band Coldplay appeared on The Graham Norton Show last Friday night, November 11th, 2016, where they gave a live performance of their hit single ‘Everglow‘. But a performance of ‘Everglow‘ that was a stripped down version of the hit single.
The track, of course, is from Coldplay’s massively successful latest album A Head Full Of Dreams. The new stripped down version has just been released at digital retailers to coincide with the band’s Graham Norton performance.
Interestingly, however, this new version was never meant to be but, instead, came about as the result of a technical accident that happened at Glastonbury Festival 2016.
According to a press release about the new song:
At the band’s triumphant Glastonbury Festival headline performance in June, a technical mishap meant Chris Martin was forced to deliver an unrehearsed solo performance of “Everglow.” The band liked it so much that they recorded a new, similarly stripped-down version of the song for release.”
Of course, as usual, Coldplay’s live performance of this new version was superb. And Chris Martin’s casual “thank you” at the end of it was lovely. Watch it below.
