Watch Deacon Blue’s Ricky Ross sing sweet cover version of ‘Make You Feel My Love

Deacon Blue’s lead singer, Ricky Ross, sang a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love‘ while accompanying himself on the piano in the Radio 2 Piano Room this week, and it is incredibly sweet.

And interestingly too, for the under 30s I suppose, Ross explained how the song was not actually an original Adele song but instead was written and originally released by Bob Dylan.

For me, while I always knew ‘Make You Feel My Love‘ was a Dylan song, I have always preferred the gorgeous version sung by Trisha Yearwood for the soundtrack of the 1998 movie Hope Floats.

It was one of two versions that appeared in the movie, the other recorded by Garth Brooks.

Dylan first released the song in 1997 on his thirtieth studio album Time Out of Mind.

An album that was an enormous success for Dylan at the time, staying on the best-seller charts in the United States for 29 weeks.

Listen to Ricky Ross’s sweet version of ‘Make You Feel My Love‘ in the BBC 2 Piano Room below. No, he isn’t Bob Dylan, but he still adds his very own brand of coolness.
