Rock band Goo Goo Dolls showed up to promote their latest album on Conan last night, with a performance of their new single ‘So Alive‘. The track is from Boxes, the band’s just released eleventh studio album.
And, when you watch Goo Goo Dolls performing live, it is still hard to get your head round the fact that this band has been together since 1986. Thirty years. That’s a long time.
Especially when the two founding members — lead vocalist John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac — are still with the band. And just as mesmerizing to watch as they always were.
As for Boxes, the album was released on May 6th, and quickly became known as more of an ‘anthem album’ than anything else. All I know is I’m not complaining.
Watch Goo Goo Dolls singing ‘So Alive‘ on Conan last night in the video below. Yep. Anthem-like and cool.
Edit: Sadly, the Goo Goo Dolls performance of ‘So Alive‘ on Conan has been deleted from his YouTube channel, so I’ve substituted this similarly cool performance the band gave on The Today Show. Enjoy!
