British singer-songwriter Låpsley made her network TV debut in the U.S. this week with an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she performed her new single ‘Falling Short‘. The track is from her upcoming debut album Long Way Home.
As for Låpsley, she has a lovely husky, sexy, soulful voice, and ‘Falling Short’ is a gorgeous song to listen to if you want something mellow.
The 19-year-old singer has also just dropped another single from her new album. Called ‘Love Is Blind‘, it is another indication her album is going to be quite phenomenal.
And it’s not just appearing on Stephen Colbert that is boosting Låpsley’s career so far. She performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival, and was also named one of the final acts on the BBC poll ‘Sound of 2015’.
Yes, she has a big career ahead of her.
Låpsley’s debut album will be released on March 4th on XL Recordings. You can pre-order it on any of the major digital music platforms.
Edited: Sadly, Colbert has deleted Låpsley’s performance on his show from his YouTube channel. So I have substituted a similarly lovely performance of the song she gave at KCRW soon afterwards.
