Watch Lorde perform a live stripped-down performance of Drake’s ‘Shot For Me‘
New Zealand singer songwriter Lorde gave a live performance of a cool stripped-down version of Drake’s ‘Shot For Me‘ during a concert in Toronto last night. It was an especially poignant number, and loved even more by the audience because Toronto, of course, is Drake’s home town.
Lorde’s cover of ‘Shot For Me‘ is not the first one she has done while on tour though. The 21-year-old superstar has also given live performances of covers of Frank Ocean’s ‘Solo’ and Kanye West hits ‘Love Lockdown‘ and ‘Runaway‘.
One of her most memorable cover songs, however, was Lorde’s performance of the David Bowie classic ‘Life On Mars‘ at the Brit Awards in 2016.
As for Lorde’s own music, her sophomore album Melodrama was released on Republic Records last year. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart becoming her first U.S. number one album and, at the end of the year, made it onto critics’ lists all over the country as one of the best of 2017.
Melodrama also received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year, but was pipped to the post by Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic.
