Watch Passenger’s Beautiful Video for ‘The Wind’ (Cat Stevens Cover)

And here is another new music video of a beautiful Passenger cover song in the British singer’s Sunday cover releases series.

This week, it is Passenger performing the iconic Cat Stevens’ song ‘The Wind‘.

The video for ‘The Wind‘ was filmed in Plymouth and, unlike some artists who just throw together a video when they release a cover song, Passenger has gone all out with this video for the Cat Stevens song as usual, because, again, it is a work of art.

The video was shot on the gorgeous Plymouth Hoe, in Smeaton’s Tower, the iconic Eddystone lighthouse thousands of people travel to Plymouth every year to see.

Due to the lighthouse effect, Passenger’s ‘The Wind‘ video has a lovely light, melancholy and echo-y sound to it.

The Wind‘, by the way, was released by Cat Stevens as the first track on his Teaser And The Firecat album, which came out in October, 1971.

It is a song written about spirituality and fate, as the British folk, rock and pop singer songwriter became interested in Eastern philosophy.

A search that led him to convert to Islam just a few years later, and to eventually change his name to Yusuf Islam.

Watch and listen to Passenger’s cover version of Cat Stevens ‘The Wind‘ below. It is really quite lovely.
