Watch The National’s superb performance of ‘The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness‘ on Jools Holland
The U.S. indie rock band The National showed back up on Later…With Jools Holland last night, October 3rd, 2017.
And not only have Jools Holland’s sound engineers finally figured out how to mix the band’s music correctly (the last time they were on the show the audio mixing was horrendous), but The National themselves were pretty freaking cool as well.
The National performed two songs from their seventh studio album Sleep Well Beast — ‘Day I Die’ and ‘The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness‘– and gave superb performances of both.
Although I have to admit ‘The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness‘, the fourth single from the album, was my particular favorite as I love those pointed guitar blasts and Matt Berninger’s rough and ragged vocals.
The National are also currently on tour promoting their latest album, with their next concert tomorrow night at the Wang Theatre in Boston.
They also have a slew of other concerts planned, covering much of the United States and then on to Europe, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
You can check all The National’s upcoming concert dates on the band’s website.
