It’s fascinating to me how many YouTubers are now becoming massive stars in the international entertainment industry. Such big stars that they are far outshining others who got into the entertainment industry the ‘traditional way’. People like gamer PewDiePie, vlogger, humorist and activist Tyler Oakley, singer-songwriter The Weeknd, Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer, and singers Justin Bieber and Troye Sivan.
Troye Sivan, for instance, is getting so much media attention nowadays, he made his debut on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ this week, performing his new single ‘Youth‘.
Sivan was introduced by Ellen on her birthday show with “Happy Birthday to me, because I love him so much”. Because, apparently, she does.
Ellen then sent her audience home with copies of Sivan’s debut album Blue Neighbourhood, which was just released in December to critical acclaim.
