The new JTBC drama Welcome to Samdalri aired last night in South Korea to another all-time high as it continues to climb in the Korean ratings.

The latest data from Nielsen Korea shows Welcome to Samdalri, Episode 5 earned 6.68 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is a slight increase from its previous episode that earned 6.50 percent.

Interestingly, however, in Seoul the Korean drama saw quite a large drop in its ratings, dropping from Episode 4’s rating of 7.25 percent to last night’s 6.52 percent.

International viewers still loving Welcome to Samdalri

Meanwhile, over on My Drama List, international viewers of the Korean drama are still rating it a very high (for that website) 8.4 out of 10.

Some do have minor annoyances — “the plot is moving at a snails pace/the recently introduced love triangle is unnecessary” — but overall, most seem to still be enjoying the Shin Hye Sun-led drama.

On Netflix, where the K-drama is airing for international viewers, Welcome to Samdalri is currently #5 on the Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart, with more than 8.2 million hours viewed so far.

Welcome to Samdalri stars Shin Hye Sun and Ji Chang Wook. It airs on JTBC every Saturday and Sunday evening, with its next episode airing later on tonight.

International viewers can watch Welcome to Samdalri via Netflix.
