What is the Gyeongseong Creature Ep 2 end credits song and who sings it?

The K-pop song that plays over the new Netflix drama Gyeongseong Creature, Episode 2 end credits is a track that seems a little out of time and place.

Especially considering the Korean drama takes place in 1945 Seoul, and the song with its dance pop beat is decidedly 21st century.

That being said, the K-pop track also adds a cool high-energy to the drama’s end credits.

Something that, as the events in the drama start to kick into high gear, is indicative of what is to come in further episodes as Jang Tae Sang (played by Park Seo Joon) and Yoon Chae Ok (Han So Hee) begin to unravel the mystery of Onseong Hospital.

That song, by the way, is called ‘Forever‘ and is performed by South Korean singer, songwriter and actor Suho (aka Kim Jun Myeon).

Forever‘ by Suho is an addictive pop track

At first listen of Suho’s ‘Forever‘, I have to admit I thought it was a little bland.

Until I realized I was obviously wrong with that opinion as the song’s melody and beat were apparently so addictive they had quickly wormed their way into my head, and now I was humming it.

Forever‘ was officially released on December 22nd and licensed to Netflix and Kakao Entertainment.

It also came with an official lyric video, which features Suho in the studio performing the track while scenes from Gyeongseong Creature are interspersed throughout.

Who is Korean singer Suho?

Suho, by the way, is the leader of the South Korean-Chinese boy group Exo and its sub-unit Exo-K.

The singer also went solo in early 2020 and, since then, has released two solo EPs — Self-Portrait and Grey Suit — and several singles, including a collaboration single with Thai actor-singer Mew Suppasit.

The Korean singer has also contributed songs to the soundtracks of Korean dramas like Bad Prosecutor and The Universe’s Star (he also starred in the latter), and the Taiwanese film Beautiful Accident.

In the almost four years since he debuted as a solo artist, in the normal circumstances we are used to in the west Suho would likely have released even more music.

During those four years, however, Suho completed his 18-months mandatory military service in South Korea, so almost half of them was spent outside the Korean entertainment history.

Listen to Suho’s ‘Forever’ from the Gyeongseong Creature, Episode 2 end credits via the Spotify player below, and on the song’s official lyric video below.

Just be warned, the scenes used in the video are taken from various episodes of the Korean drama so, if you do not like your enjoyment of a show spoiled by seeing scenes ahead of time, you may want to wait to watch it until you have watched all seven episodes currently out.

Gyeongseong Creature itself is currently streaming via Netflix, with the first seven episodes already out and the last three due to premiere on January 5th, 2024.
