Listen to Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s ‘Taking Care of Business’ — A Clichéd Choice but Still Cool

Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s classic song ‘Taking Care of Business‘ was featured on the second episode (“Spring) of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, and was heard when Lorelei and Luke are being shown possible franchise locations. And sure, it was an extremely clichéd song to choose to illustrate the scene, but it works.

The track is from Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s second album Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, which was released in 1973. Forty three years after its release it still remains one of the most important songs in rock history, particularly for its famous guitar riff.

The song was written by lead guitarist and songwriter Randy Bachman and is also one of the most licensed songs in Sony’s catalogue, having been used in TV shows, movies and commercials for decades. And now it appears in another one.

Listen to Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s ‘Taking Care of Business‘ from Gilmore Girls in the video below. You can pick it up on the band’s Greatest Hits album on most major music sites.
