Listen to Dolly Parton’s ‘Here You Come Again’ from ‘Gilmore Girls’ — A Fabulous Song

If there is one Dolly Parton song I associate with her more than any other, it is her classic 1977 hit single ‘Here You Come Again‘.

A song that was just used on the soundtrack for the first episode of the Netflix series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, and one that is just as fabulous as when it was released on Parton’s 19th studio album of the same name almost 40 years ago.

An album that was a big success for the country music superstar, charting at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Albums chart, and also climbing high up charts in Canada and Australia.

Here You Come Again‘ in this reincarnation was heard on Gilmore Girls when Lorelei (Lauren Graham) finally understands that she is going to have to go to therapy with her mother.

And it was perfect for that scene — deceptively light-hearted, yet also very sad.

The track is also one of very few Dolly Parton hits that was not written by her.

Instead the song was written by Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann.

Listen to Dolly Parton’s ‘Here You Come Again‘ in the audio video below, and on the Spotify player.

You can pick up the album it originated on at most major digital music sites. Or just listen to the hell out of it via Parton’s Spotify account.
