Lee Joon Hyuk and Shin Hye Sun starring in Kdrama Lady Dua? Here’s what we know so far…

According to various Korean news media (here and here) Korean actors Shin Hae Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk are currently in talks to star in a new K-drama called Lady Dua (working title).

Of course, as is usual in these cases, the actors’ agencies immediately responded to the news reports with Shin Hye Sun’s agency YNK Entertainment saying “She has received a proposal to star in Lady Dua, but nothing has been decided yet“, and Lee Joon Hyuk’s agency Ace Factory commenting “Discussions are ongoing, but nothing has been confirmed“.

Should the pair both accept roles in Lady Dua, however, it will be a reunion of sorts as both actors also starred in the Cho Seung Woo-led drama Stranger.

What we know about Lady Dua?

While the title of the K-drama is likely to change, we do know that Lady Dua follows Sarah Kim, a Korean-American woman (to be played by Shin Hye Sun if she accepts), who decides to create a fake luxury brand in an effort to scam the upper class.

After all they have money so they can afford it, right?

She will be opposed by Detective Park Moo Kyung  (Lee Joon Hyuk), who is part of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crime Investigation Division, and is determined to make those scamming others pay the price.

He has the #1 arrest rate in the entire division, so his chances are usually good.

Shin Hye Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk are busy actors

Of course, both Shin Hye Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk are also very busy this year already, without even accepting roles in Lady Dua.

Shin Hye Sun finished starring in Welcome to Samdalri early in the year, and is now starring in the ENA drama Dear Hyeri. She was also the main female lead in the thriller film Following back in May.

Meanwhile, Lee Joon Hyuk’s latest drama Stranger spin-off Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard premiered last night to solid ratings.

He is also starring in K-drama Love Scout (title has changed several times, so don’t expect this one to stick), which is due to premiere in January, 2025 (at the moment!) alongside Han Ji Min, and has a guest role in the upcoming Netflix K-drama Mercy for None.

Joon Hyuk has also, reportedly, been cast in the film The Man Who Lives With The King.

Fingers crossed then that they will both accept a Lady Dua role, as they would be a very cool pairing indeed. Right?
