Castaway Diva, Episode 8
The Korean romantic comedy drama Castaway Diva, Episode 8 continues to win the hearts of the Korean audience as new episodes release, with Castaway Diva, Episode 8 earning the drama’s highest rating ever last night — both nationwide and in Seoul.
New numbers via Nielsen Korea show Castaway Diva, Episode 8 grabbed 8.68 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is a big increase from its previous episode’s 6.05 percent, and substantially higher than its previous ratings high of 7.98 percent for Episode 4.
In Seoul, the tvN drama experienced an even higher ratings climb — a massive one, in fact — going from Saturday night’s 6.64 percent to Sunday night’s 9.35 percent.
Considering the drama airs directly opposite KBS2’s increasingly popular Goryeo–Khitan War, which also saw a ratings rise last night, that Castaway Diva managed to pull off that big of an audience increase is pretty damned cool.
Both ratings also placed the Park Eun Bin-led drama in first place in its time slot on cable TV.
Castaway Diva stars Park Eun Bin, Kim Hyo Jin, Chae Jong Hyeop, Cha Hak Yeon, and Kim Joo Hun.
It airs every Saturday and Sunday on tvN at 21:20 (KST), with Netflix streaming the drama for international viewers.
On Netflix, by the way, Castaway Diva is also performing incredibly well, as it is currently in its second week on the streaming platform’s Most-Watched Non-English TV Show chart, and has already climbed from 9th place to last week’s 6th ranking.
