The plot of Dare to Love Me

Shin Yoon Bok (played by Kim Myung Soo) is a studious scholar hailing from Seongsan Village, South Korea, who bears the weighty responsibility of safeguarding the legacy of the Joseon Dynasty while trying to reclaim prized cultural relics for his family.

While he reveres the wisdom of his elders and faithfully adheres to their counsel as a distinguished Confucian scholar, he also harbors the progressive inclinations of contemporary youth, occasionally revealing a rebellious streak.

Despite his polite demeanor, he also grapples with getting close to anyone and so, often, maintains a certain aloofness.

Things become even more complicated for Yoon Bok’s, however, when he decides to move to Seoul and study to become a webtoon author. It is there he meets Kim Hong Do (Lee Soo Young), a woman worn down by disappointments.

Staff of Dare to Love Me
