Listen to Swedish folk act First Aid Kit do a brilliantly stripped down folk version of Lorde’s ‘Perfect Places’

The fabulous Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit sang a brilliant folk cover of Lorde’s hit ‘Perfect Places‘ on their visit to BBC Radio 2 recently.

Perfect Places‘ is from Lorde’s second album Melodrama and, while the original electro-pop song is fabulous, I think I love this First Aid Kit folk version just as much. Because it’s stripped down, twangy and has the sweetest harmonies.

Throw in that sad steel guitar that really grabs at your feels, and that gorgeous almost country sound, and this one is going to be on my Spotify playlist for a while.

First Aid Kit, aka sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg, will have more new music out next year as well when they release their upcoming album Ruins on the 19th January, 2018 on the Columbia record label.

It is the fourth studio album for the duo and a follow up to their 2014 release Stay Gold, which actually did stay gold and platinum, selling over 100,000 albums in the UK alone and more than 200,000 copies in Sweden.

Listen to First Aid Kit’s folk version of Lorde’s ‘Pefect Places‘ in the Spotify widget below. You will also find their version of the Christmas classic ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas‘ on there as well, and both are as sweet as hell.
