Korean film Wonderland on Netflix Top 10 for 2nd week with millions of hours viewed

The Korean science fiction romance drama Wonderland is on the Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English Films chart for the second week.

The Tang Wei, Bae Suzy, Park Bo Gum, Jung Yu Mi, and Choi Woo Shik-led film remained on the Top 10 this week at #9 due to having been viewed 1.4 million times for a total number of hours of 2.7 million.

The latest data on the chart released by Netflix today is for the period from July 29th to August 4th.

The Kim Tae Yong-written and directed film was in the Top 10 in Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand, which helped it remain on the chart for a second week.

What is the Wonderland plot?

Wonderland tells the story of a simulated AI-run universe that allows people to “communicate” with those they cannot speak to in the real world, whether due to death, severe illness or other sad circumstances.

Although the people who were lost appear just like they did in real life, of course, things do not always turn out as happily or as satisfying as their loved ones expect.

Due to various characters connecting with loved ones who are no longer alive, the film also features a star-studded supporting and guest cast that includes Park Yeon Woo (Love is for Suckers), Anupam Tripathi (King the Land), Kang Ae Shim (Frankly Speaking) and Gong Yoo (Goblin).

The film premiered in movie theaters in South Korea in June, before being released on Netflix on July 26th.
