Listen to David Douglas’s ‘Pay No Mind’ from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts — it’s memerizing

Kipo and Wolf hit the deck before the explosion on the cruise ship

David Douglas’s ‘Pay No Mind‘ is just one of the stellar dance club/electro pop tracks on the Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts soundtrack

If there was ever a TV/streaming series that featured the best electro pop/dance music you had ever heard, the animated Netflix series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts would have to be close to the top of the list.

Because, not only does that show have superb dance music on every episode, most of the artists producing it are not ones that are necessarily household names.

That means many of us are being introduced to some incredible dance music/electro pop artists through this hit animated series for the first time.

Take David Douglas’s ‘Pay No Mind‘, that superb dance track with the huge driving beat that showed up on the third season of the series this month — Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Season 3, Episode 2, “Code Word Milkshake“.

That mesmerizing track was heard playing as Kipo and her group sneak onto the huge cruise ship and as Kipo has to fight Amelia’s crew.

Emilia is not a nice person

David Douglas’s ‘Pay No Mind‘ is from the Dutch producer/artist/video director’s 2017 studio album Spectators of the Universe, which was released via the Amsterdam-based indie label Atomnation Records.

The album saw Douglas influenced by the astrological writings of the 18th century explorer and naturalist with the same name and, through them, create what his Bandcamp profile calls

celestial melodies, intertwining them perfectly with crisp, driving beats, swerving through the cosmos, leaving a shower of arpeggiated synths and hypnotic vocals in his wake“.

And yes, if you love David Douglas’s sound, grab Spectators of the Universe on Bandcamp.
