Listen to Debrah Scarlett’s ‘Cynical Youth’: a Hint of Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser and Florence + the Machine — Gorgeous

Remember Debrah Scarlett of Mørland and Debrah Scarlett, the pair who represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with their song ‘A Monster Like Me? Both she and Mørland went their separate ways after the competition ended (they finished in 8th place), with Mørland releasing a couple of singles as a solo artist.

This month, it’s Debrah Scarlett’s turn. She has just released her first solo single since Eurovision. Called ‘Cynical Youth‘, the song is from her upcoming debut EP Dys(u)topia, to be released on the 17th of March.

And it’s an interesting track, as it is not one that is particularly simple or ‘radio friendly’, but it definitely has drama to it that you will enjoy. Plus, it’s a big song, which suits Debrah Scarlett and her big voice perfectly.

In fact, she has a hint of Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins with a massive hit of Florence of Florence + the Machine, and the power that that amazing woman gives off.

Listen to Debrah Scarlett’s ‘Cynical Youth‘ in the Soundcloud widget below. Don’t know about you, but I think it’s fantastic. Can’t wait for the EP.
