As if it wasn’t fabulous enough that the upcoming movie Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children was directed by the amazing Tim Burton, one of the tracks from the film has just been released by Florence and the Machine. And it’s stunning.
Called ‘Wish That You Were Here‘ it’s an absolutely haunting song and, with Florence’s almost other-worldly vocals, it really is quite something.
It’s a song that is also a collaboration between Florence and Tim Burton, so no wonder it is such perfect mood music for the film.
Of course, this is not the first song Florence and the Machine have contributed to someone else’s project this year. They also have three songs in the upcoming video game Final Fantasy XV that are so good, I have had them on repeat every morning on my daily speedwalk. (There’s nothing like a bit of Florence to get your mood right for the day).
Based on the best-selling novel by Ransom Riggs, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Samuel L Jackson, Chris O’Dowd, Rupert Everett and Judi Dench. It opens in cinemas at the end of September.
Meanwhile listen to Florence and the Machine’s ‘Wish That You Were Here‘ in the video below. You don’t often get something that gorgeously ethereal and…sad.
