Listen to Florence and the Machine’s ‘Dog Days are Over’ from Faraway movie end scenes – a cool, pounding anthem

The Netflix rom com movie Faraway features some of the best music I have heard on a romantic comedy in quite a while.

Especially because most of it is not exactly music you would expect for those scenes.

Case in point, Florence and the Machine’s ‘Dog Days are Over‘, which played on the movie over the ending scenes as Zeynep sees the red balloon Josip has left in the bedroom for her, grabs it and rushes after him.

The song continues playing over the end credits.

Florence and the Machine’s ‘Dog Days are Over‘ is the second single from the British band’s debut studio album, Lungs, which came out in November, 2008.

The song is known as somewhat of an anthem that starts out slowly and sweetly, like many of Florence and the Machine‘s songs do, but then quickly develops into a clap-beat infused, pounding beat of a song that makes you just want to get up and dance.

And, while successful in the band’s home country of the UK, the song was hugely successful in the United States, where it hit four major charts, including peaking at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 on the Dance Club Songs chart.

It also went on to increase in popularity when the British band began playing it live at festivals all over the UK.

Listen to Florence and the Machine’s ‘Dog Days are Over‘ as heard on the final scenes of Faraway in the song’s music video, and on their Lungs album.
