Listen to Hayes Carll’s ‘Drunken Poet’s Dream’ from Yellowstone, Season 3, Episode 5

The Music Supervisor of Yellowstone often outdoes herself with the songs she chooses for the soundtrack of the popular Paramount Network drama series.

Take Hayes Carll’s ‘Drunken Poet’s Dream“, which was played on Yellowstone last night — Yellowstone, Season 3, Episode 5, “Cowboys and Dreamers“.

That track was heard as we see Rip storm out of his cabin and into the party where he sees Beth, and as Kacey and John Dutton are talking. It was the perfect choice for the emotion of those scenes.

Hayes Carll’s ‘Drunken Poet’s Dream” was co-written by Carll and Ray Wylie Hubbard and is the first track from his third studio album Trouble in Mind.

It was released in 2008 via Lost Highway Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music, with Hayes Carll also playing both acoustic guitar and Baritone acoustic guitar on the album.

The 14-track album debuted on the Top Heatseekers chart upon its release.

Listen to Hayes Carll’s ‘Drunken Poet’s Dream’ below in both the video and on his Trouble in Mind album on the Spotify player.

The next episode of Yellowstone will air on July 26th. The series stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly and Wes Bentley and has already been renewed for a fourth season.
