Listen to Jose Gonzalez’s ‘El Invento’ from The Good Doctor, Season 4, Episode 20, “Vamos”

The season 4 finale of The Good Doctor last night featured a couple of gorgeous Spanish-language songs, including Swedish singer songwriter Jose Gonzalez’s ‘El Invento‘ — The Good Doctor, Season 4, Episode 20, “Vamos“.

The song was played as the medical team is preparing to leave Guatemala.

Jose Gonzalez’s ‘El Invento‘ was released as a single earlier this year via Imperial Recordings and Mute. The song is from his upcoming fourth studio album Local Valley, which is due to be released in September of this year.

It also came with a simple music video featuring Gonzalez lying in bed, and his daughter coming into the room to wake him up.

The remainder of the video has the singer sitting outside his house drinking a cup of coffee and enjoying the breeze, ending with a shot of a tiny baby bird in a nest.

As Jose Gonzalez explains about the song, one of the few he has written in Spanish:

Every now and then I try to write lyrics in Spanish – this time I succeeded! I guess talking to Laura in Spanish everyday helped. I started writing ‘El Invento’ around 2017 when she was born. The song is about the questions – who we are, where we’re going and why? Who can we thank for our existence?

Historically, most traditions have invented answers to these questions. Thereof the name of the song: The Invention (god).

El Invento’ is just one of Gonzalez’s songs to be licensed for play on hit TV series.

His music has also appeared on popular TV shows like Life is Strange, Cold Case, The Blacklist, The Good Wife, New Amsterdam, Parenthood, The Flash, The Originals, This Is Us, Bones, Scrubs and The Vampire Diaries.

Listen to Jose Gonzalez’s ‘El Invento‘ from The Good Doctor in both the song’s music video and on the Spotify player.

If you like the song as much as I do, you can purchase the track via Bandcamp.
