Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Love‘ is such a beautiful song
British singer songwriter Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Love‘ was featured on the supernatural drama Legacies this week — Season 1, Episode 12, “There’s A Mummy on Main Street“.
The song was played as the group leaves Maple Hollow, as Hope and Lizzie suddenly figure out it was Josie that began the feud between them, and as Kaleb informs Alaric the students need to be able to access their full powers.
Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Love‘ also comes with a beautiful music video.
A video that, until I watched it, it had never dawned on me that Lewis Capaldi may very well be related to Peter Capaldi — the British actor that, up until recently, was The Doctor in the long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.
But, when the music video for Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Love‘ started playing, there was Peter Capaldi. Standing on a railway platform waiting for a train.
As it turns out, Peter is one of Lewis Capaldi’s distant relatives — a second cousin once removed. Someone he had not actually met up until recently, when Peter Capaldi showed up at one of his shows.
But, when it came to casting the role for the main character in Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Love’ music video — a video shot as an advert for organ donation charity Live Life Give Life — Peter Capaldi was Lewis’s obvious first choice.
“It was such a massive honour getting to work with him and director Phil Beastall over the two days we shot, said the younger Capaldi.“He’s absolutely incredible in the video, and I am so proud of how it turned out.”

In it, Peter Capaldi plays a bereaved husband whose late wife donated her heart to a woman waiting for a heart transplant. In the video, he is able to visit her and her family, and to hear his wife’s heartbeat one more time.
And, being a massive fan of Peter Capaldi, I have to say this tweet about Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Love‘ video really made me smile. Because the author of it describes why so many people love him perfectly.

Meanwhile, Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Loved‘ has been creeping up to the top spot on the UK singles chart for several weeks. Yesterday, it hit the number one spot. It is his first number one song, and his reaction about it was perfect:
“Look who it is at Number 1! If you’ve listened to it, bought it, streamed it… thanks very much. This is my first Number 1, so I’m officially a one-hit wonder on the Official Charts.”
