Listen to Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)’ from Tetris end credits

The British synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)’ (Full Length 7” Mix) was that banging song playing over the Tetris end credits this week.

The song began playing during the last scene as Alexey (Nikita Efremov) is given the game by Henk (Taron Egerton) as a gift, and then continues playing as the first end credit track.

Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)’ is a decades-old song, first being released in 1985 as a single, then re-released a year later.

It was the later release that became a big hit in the United States though, climbing high up four American charts and ultimately hitting #10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The electro pop dance track also charted in the duo’s home country of the UK at #11 on the UK Singles chart, and in five other countries.

Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)’ then became a hit for a second time more than 35 years after its first release when it was used on an Allstate Insurance ad that aired during the 2021 Super Bowl.

The track hit the #1 spot on the Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart, as well as charted high on two other American charts.

The power of advertising, eh?

Listen to Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)’  as heard on the Tetris soundtrack in the  12″ Mix video, and on the official Tetris soundtrack album itself.

You can watch Tetris on Apple TV+.

Just don’t expect it to tell you the truth about the development of Tetris, as it is nothing more than a Hollywood fabrication of the actual events.
