American singer songwriter Ray Lamontagne’s ‘Be Here Now‘ was licensed for play on the new episode of the medical drama New Amsterdam this week — New Amsterdam, Season 3, Episode 4, “This Is All I Need” — which was aired on March 23rd, 2021.

The song was heard as Cassian and Helen are talking about their personal lives, as Bloom gives Leyla somewhere to sleep and as Max brings Luna home.

Ray Lamontagne’s ‘Be Here Now‘ is from the singer’s second studio album Till the Sun Turns Black, which was released in August, 2006 via RCA in the United States and 14th Floor Records in the UK.

The album was a huge success for Lamontagne charting high on both the Billboard 200 chart and the UK’s Albums chart.

Be Here Now‘ is also just one of a massive number of songs he has had played on hit TV shows. If I was to list all the shows, this article would take an age to read through.

Let’s just say some of them include Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters, Parenthood (many times), Nashville, One Tree Hill, Grey’s Anatomy (many times), Criminal Minds, So You Think You Can Dance, Army Wives, Fringe, Ghost Whisperer, The Client List and more.

In other words, not only has Ray Lamontagne released eight studio albums, three EPs and a boatload of singles during his 20-year plus career, he has also created an extremely lucrative career for himself by licensing his music for TV and movie soundtracks.
