Listen to Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose’ from Invasion, S2 Ep 4 as Penny plays music in the car

The British singer songwriter Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose‘ was briefly played on this week’s episode of InvasionInvasion, Season 2, Episode 4, “The Tunnel“.

The track was heard as Montgomery is driving the Jaguar with Jamila in the front seat, and everyone else in the back seat.

Penny then complains about the music, grabs Montgomery’s phone and scrolls through his music list until she finds Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose’, which she plays as everyone else laughs at her song choice — and at Monty for having it on his phone.

When was Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose‘ released?

The British singer first released ‘Kiss from a Rose’ on his second album Seal in May, 1994, with the track then coming out in July of 1994 as the second single from the album.

It was then also featured on the hit movie The Never Ending Story III a few months later, giving it even more popularity.

To the point that, ‘Kiss from a Rose‘ went on to chart at #1 on four charts in the U.S., including at #1 on Billboard Hot 100.

The song also ranked high up charts in 16 other countries, with a top spot in Australia.

It has since become one of Seal’s most iconic songs.

Especially as the track won three Grammys in 1996 — Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

Listen to Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose‘ as played on Invasion on his Seal album via the Spotify widget below (where it currently has almost 390 million streams), and in the video.

Sure, the song is cheesy, but it is still so damned pretty, and Seal’s vocals are killer.
