If there is one artist that can probably live off his earnings from licensing his music to Grey’s Anatomy, it must be Sleeping At Last, aka American indie singer songwriter Ryan O’Neal. His work has appeared on many many episodes of the medical drama over many seasons — more than any other artist.
This week, Sleeping At Last’s ‘North‘ showed up on Grey’s Anatomy, Season 17, Episode 6, “No Time for Despair“, which aired last night — December 17th, 2020.
‘North‘ is not a new song from the Illinois-native singer songwriter. It was first released on his four-track Atlas: Land EP, which came out in 2014 and is the fifth part of his 11-part Atlas collection.
It is a track that sounds very similar to most of Sleeping At Last’s songs — soft, sad, with a gorgeous orchestral melody and the singer’s plaintive vocals.
In other words, the perfect song for the highly-dramatic Grey’s Anatomy. (continue reading and listen to Sleeping At Last’s ‘North’ below…)
