Listen to The Everly Brothers’ ‘Devoted to You’ from Dexter: New Blood, Episode 7

After their song ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream‘ was featured on Dexter: New Blood Episode 3, the iconic American country rock duo The Everly Brothers were back on the show last night on its’ 1950s and 60s music soundtrack.

This time, it was The Everly Brothers’ ‘Devoted to You‘, which was played on Dexter: New Blood, Episode 7, “Skin of Her Teeth“.

The song was heard ominously playing as we see Iris hitching a ride and eventually getting into Kurt’s truck.

Devoted to You‘ is one of The Everly Brothers’ early hits, and is notable for its gorgeous harmony between the two men.

The song was originally released on the Cadence Records label in 1958 but, interestingly, not as a single but instead as the B-side of their #1 hit song ‘Bird Dog’.

Devoted to You’, however, surprised the duo’s record label by going on to hit the #2 spot on the U.S. Rhythm and Blues singles chart, and #10 on the Pop Singles chart.

The gorgeous track also charted at #1 in Canada, and in Australia at #25.

Listen to The Everly Brothers’ ‘Devoted to You‘ as heard on Dexter: New Blood in the video, and on The Very Best of The Everly Brothers album.

The song itself may sound like ‘old-fashioned’ music to some nowadays, but you cannot deny how beautiful those harmonies sound.
