Listen to The Promised’s ‘We Could Be in Love’ from Virgin River, Season 2, Ep. 4 — a true feel good song

Vancouver-based indie, folk, rock, country band The Promised’s ‘We Could Be In Love‘ was heard on Season 2 of the Netflix original series Virgin River this week — Virgin River, Season 2, Episode 4, “Rumor Has It“.

The song was heard live, and what a nice performance it was, as the band themselves were at the filming of the Virgin River Community Picnic to perform it.

The Promised’s ‘We Could Be In Love‘ is the band’s debut single.

It was released in 2019, followed up by a second one — ‘Don’t Take Me Down‘ — soon after. Both songs were ultimately licensed for the second season of Virgin River — not a bad start for an indie band that has not been together very long at all.

Although not really that surprising, as their music sounds like it’s coming from a band that has been together for years, and ‘We Could Be In Love‘ is such a lovely upbeat feelgood song.

The Promised’s appearance on Virgin River, Season 2

The Promised was founded by Jesse and Noelle Burch who, not long after they met, not only started a band together but also got married.

A few months later they were joined by upright slap bass player Casey Shalala and then drummer Rylan Wood, and The Promised as it stands today was born.

The Canadian band has released a total of four singles to date. Earlier this year, they also released their debut album Phoenix via MyTone Records. (continue reading and listen to The Promised’s ‘We Could Be In Love‘ below…)

Listen to The Promised’s ‘We Could Be In Love‘ as heard on Virgin River on that album and in the video below. A video that comes with a lovely message as well:

Everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, deserves love and to love whomever they choose.”

Amen to that.
