Lovely Runner Ep 2 ratings drop as international viewers rate K-drama VERY high

As the ratings for the Korean fantasy romance drama Lovely Runner, Episode 2 dropped last night in South Korea, international viewers continued to give the tvN drama just as high ratings for its second episode as its first.

The latest data from Nielsen Korea shows Lovely Runner, Episode 2 ratings fell nationwide to 2.71 percent after its first episode premiered to a higher 3.07 percent.

The Seoul ratings for the K-drama also saw a similar drop, falling from Monday night’s 3.17 percent to last night’s 2.91 percent.

That being said, the first two or three episodes of a new K-drama are rarely important, as it is usually after that when we can tell whether audiences are enjoying the series or not.

Fingers crossed then that we’ll see a ratings rise for Episode 3.

International audiences and Lovely Runner, Episode 2

Meanwhile, international audiences seem to be quite smitten with the first couple of episodes of Lovely Runner, as their ratings have remained very high on almost every ratings platform.

On Viki, where Lovely Runner began streaming for international audiences on Monday night, the Korean romance drama is currently rated an incredibly high 9.8 out of 10 from almost 1,000 viewers.

The same goes for IMDB and its often disgruntled users, who are also giving the Korean drama a 9.1 out of 10.

And finally, even the stingy folks over at My Drama List (man, they love to knock down dramas they don’t like) are giving Lovely Runner a crazy high (for them!) 8.7 out of 10 so far.

Lovely Runner stars Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, and airs on tvN in South Korea every Monday and Tuesday evening at 20:50 (KST).

If you haven’t started watching it yet, give it a try, as it really does grab the heart-strings!
