Queen of Tears earns double digits for first time
With the Korean drama Queen of Tears still creating a major buzz on social media, it isn’t much of a surprise to see the latest episode’s ratings earn a massive jump.
According to Nielsen Korea, that jump took Queen of Tears, Episode 4 into double digits — both nationwide and in Seoul — for the first time in the K0rean drama’s ratings history.
Those Queen of Tears, Episode 4 ratings were 12.98 percent nationwide, which is a huge 3.39 percent increase since Episode 3, which had already seen a jump versus Episode 2.
Audiences in Seoul also tuned in in larger numbers, with last night’s episode of the Korean rom-com drama soaring from its third episode’s 11.12 percent audience share to last night’s 13.85 percent.
With the massive attention the Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won-led drama is still getting all over social media, next week’s episode could be even higher.
Queen of Tears on Netflix
The data I am looking forward to the most, though, are the numbers coming from Netflix tomorrow (Tuesday, March 19th), when it releases its Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart.
After all, Queen of Tears hit #7 on last week’s chart with just two episodes out, so it will be interesting to see how high this superb Korean drama has climbed this week.
I’m guessing at least in the Top 3.
Check back tomorrow, and we’ll let you know.
The next episode of Queen of Tears airs on tvN in South Korea on Saturday, March 23rd, with Netflix streaming it in most international regions.
